Kids' Guide to Bible Animals
Series: Kids' Guide to the Bible
Author: Jane Landreth
Here’s a Bible reference kids will actually want to read! Kids love animals, and the Kids’ Guide to Bible Animals will lead them on a journey of discovery. This fully-illustrated book for 8–12-year-olds details every animal, bird and insect in scripture, from antelopes to camels, donkeys to fleas, pigs to worms—100 in all. Descriptions of each creature are provided, along with details of their importance in Bible times. Intriguing “Did You Know?” sidebars highlight some of the weird and amazing aspects of the animal world. It’s all wrapped up in a bright, colorful package that kids will love.
This is a great book to get children interested and involved in reading the Bible as well as a very informative one. Mrs. Landreth explains the class of animals that each belong to, their specific characteristics, how they live, survive and communicate. She doesn't overlook animals we have no current evidence of but gives varying opinions of Bible experts regarding their existence. She gives facts that may not be commonly known as well as dispelling some information that we may have perceived as factual. The book includes Bible references for each animal and instances of their use in the Bible. I think this book is a great tool for children and would recommend it to anyone that is looking for something unique to pique their child's interest in the Bible.
I really liked this book about Bible animals. There were a lot of animals that I liked already and many animals I didn’t know about before reading this book. I was surprised to find out that all these animals lived so far back in times. It was fun to look up the Bible verses of where the animals actually were in the Bible.
There is a “Did you know?” section about each animal with fun and interesting facts that was my favorite part to read
The photographs in “Kids' Guide to Bible Animals” were amazing, pretty and interesting.
Filled with lots of fun facts, this book is a winner for any animal lover in your family as you walk through the scriptures and learn more about the how and why each animal might have been listed, or what it's use was in Bible times. I have to give a thumbs up here as well.
This book has 100 animals of the Bible listed alphabetically, by classification ( in the front of the book for easy reference), with full color picture and where to find it in the bible. Written for 8-12 year olds, the information is extensive but with brightly colored bubble sidebars of fun facts and questions, this book will delight and educate. Mosaic law is introduced and explained in an informative and easy to understand way.
I highly recommend this book to educators, homeschoolers, Sunday School teachers and parents who have children who love to learn about animals. This book covers them all, from amphibians to insects, fish to mammals.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The information and way it is presented makes it a special book for older children. One I am sure any parent would be glad to see them reading.
Kids’ Guide to Bible Animals is an excellent resource for kids who love animals, fish or bugs! I love how there are facts about each subject and where they played a role in the Bible story that’s listed on the page. The colors are bright, the pictures are engaging and it’s easy to read for any budding vet, scientist or zoo keeper!
What a fantastic book for your older elementary aged children! They will learn about animals of all kinds, what they eat, where they live, and so much more information! You will also discover where they can be found in the Bible. For example, you can find Apes in 1 Kings 10:22 and did you know that Apes and Humans are ticklish in the same body areas? Neither did I. Seriously, this book is full of fantastic little tidbits, that everyone in the family will enjoy and learn from!
A perfect book for Christian families, home schooling families and Christian educators alike! Although I have younger children, it was fun reading some of the book (on the computer) to them and they absolutely loved the full color illustrations too! I will definitely be looking to purchase a hard copy of this book in the future.
I highly recommend this book and give it a huge thumbs up!
