What The Bible Is All About

Author: Henrietta Mears

Understand your Bible with this fascinating audiobook!  Everyone who has a Bible should have a copy of What the Bible Is All About. In clear, concise language, it gives you an excellent overview and understanding of every book in the Bible—and makes it come alive as never before.  This audiobook shows why the Bible is one book, one history, one story, provides a complete overview of the Scriptures, introduces the key people in the Bible, gives historical background on every key event in the Bible, explains how Jesus is revealed in the Old and New Testaments, and underscores the main themes in the Bible.
"Henrietta Mears's classic handbook on the Holy Bible has stood the test of time for over half-a-century, and now it finally gets an audio treatment, providing comprehensive overviews of all 66 books. Along the way, she does more than simply state biblical facts; she also offers applications and extrapolations culled from her years of experience as a Sunday school teacher. Kelly Dolan's and Anna-Lisa Horton's voices set off individual chapters, with Dolan carrying his parts off without a hitch. Horton's warm Australian accent and pronunciations sometimes contradict Dolan's. Still, the use of two distinct readers keeps the flow of the book moving. With such a varied tome as the Bible, the listener will enjoy the freshness of each new chapter's reader."

About The Author:

Henrietta C. Mears (1890-1963) was one of the great Bible teachers of the 20th century. While Christian Education Director at First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood, she built one of the largest Sunday Schools in the world and wrote curriculum that was in such high demand that to publish it, she founded Gospel Light in 1933. Such notable Christian leaders as Richard C. Halverson, Luis Evans, Jr., and Bill Bright were among her students. Billy Graham said of Dr. Mears, “Her enthusiasm for the Lord Jesus Christ was contagious.”
