God speaks to us in a special way in times of testing. This leaflet is presented with the sincere wish that you might be strengthened as God speaks to you in your time of need, and that you, through the “comfort of Scriptures might have hope.”
His Supporting Presence
Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; who comforteth us in all our tribulation. 2 Corinthians 1:3,4
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.
Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him. For he knoweth our frame;
he remembereth that we are dust.
His Surpassing Peace
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
[Jesus said,] These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
His Staying Purpose
Now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: that the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 1:6;7
Whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth...Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but
grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
[The Lord said,] My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. [Paul’s response was,] Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
2 Corinthians 12:9
As you claim God’s promises by faith, He will grant you: His triumph in the midst of testing; His joy in the midst of sorrow; His peace in the midst of trouble.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
